Do you want an inflatable SUP that rides more like a hard board? The Aztron Meteor has a special shape and design that makes it a fast inflatable paddleboard, and it can save you money too. Here’s how…
1. The Aztron Meteor Glides Further, Faster
First of all, this racing style iSUP measures 14 feet in length. The longer shape gives it a streamlined design, which helps it propel faster through the water.
Therefore, your board goes a farther distance with each paddle stroke. In other words, you can move further at a higher speed and with less work. (And who doesn’t want that, right?)
By the way, you still get a wide enough center to provide plenty of stability. However, the additional length transforms this SUP into a narrow profile which gives you that loner glide.
2. SUP Requires Less Work to Glide Through Rough Water
Second, this inflatable SUP has a built-in curved rocker with a narrow nose. Hence, the board can more easily cut through waves or choppy water with minimal effort.
Note: You never know what water conditions you will run into, especially when racing at a pre-scheduled time. Therefore, you want your paddleboard to give you the most advantages possible.
3. Inflatable SUP Performs More Like a Hard Board
Third, the Aztron Meteor SUP features “double chamber” construction. In other words, it makes this blow-up paddleboard extra stiff, with the feel and function of a fiberglass or foam board.
In addition to having a faster performance, rigid boards have minimal bounce. (So, when shopping for paddleboards, look for models with a 15PSI or higher rating.)
4. Lighter Weight Helps Increase Board Speed
Fourth, this inflatable SUP has what’s called “Double Layer Fusion Technology”. This drop-stitch material reduces the board’s weight by 25%, making it lighter and easier to maneuver in the water.
You have more control over your SUP while paddling, which is particularly important to racers. Not to mention, a lighter SUP is easier to carry and load into your car.
5. Unique Deck Pad Helps to Make Fast Turns
Fifth, the grippy deck pad extends a significant portion of the board. Plus, you get a unique (and convenient) tail kick at the rear for when you need to make quick turns.
The spacious foam textured platform also comes in handy for doing paddleboard yoga or paddling with pets.

One Disadvantage of a Large Racing SUP:
If you don’t plan on racing, the big disadvantage I see with the Aztron SUP is its size. The large the paddleboard, the more cumbersome it is to carry, and more challenging it is to carry on an airplane.
Note: Sea Eagle makes a shorter 12’6″ racing paddleboard that is inflatable called the Needlenose. Although smaller in size, this model does weigh more than the Meteor.
Of course, inflatable paddleboards are easier (and cheaper) to fly with than a regular hard board. However, SUP size in regards to traveling is an important factor to keep in mind.
